Before Your Session

Choosing Outfits:

  • Stick to Neutrals and Soft Colors: Creams, taupes, dusty blues, sage greens, and warm browns look beautiful and timeless.
  • Coordinate, Don’t Match: Think complementary shades and mixed textures rather than everyone wearing the exact same color.
  • Comfort Over Everything: You’ll be moving, sitting, snuggling — so choose outfits you can move freely in!
  • Keep It Simple: Avoid logos, loud prints, or neon colors that can distract from your beautiful connections.

Bonus Tip: Lay your outfits out together beforehand to see how they photograph as a group!

Session Day Tips

For Families:

  • Rested and Fed = Happy Family: Try to schedule naps and meals ahead of time. Bring snacks and water just in case.
  • Let Kids Be Themselves: Some of the sweetest photos happen when kids are silly or adventurous. We'll play, laugh, and capture their real personalities!
  • Relax and Trust the Process: Don’t worry about getting "perfect" smiles — connection is the real magic.

For Maternity:

  • Timing Matters: The sweet spot is usually between 28–34 weeks — when your bump is showing beautifully but you're still feeling comfortable.
  • Bring Extras: If wearing a flowy dress, a second outfit option like a fitted dress can offer different looks.

For Newborns:

  • Warm Room = Sleepy Baby: About 75°F works best to keep baby cozy and calm.
  • Loosen Clothing Beforehand: About 30 minutes before the session, loosen baby's diaper or clothing to avoid red marks.
  • Have Essentials Ready: Extra swaddles, pacifiers, wipes, and burp cloths nearby for quick touch-ups.

What to Expect During the Session

  • Lots of Candid Moments: I’ll guide you into natural interactions — walking, cuddling, playing — rather than stiff posing.
  • Go With the Flow: Especially with little ones and newborns, flexibility is key. We'll take breaks when needed and keep it lighthearted.
  • The Little Things Matter: Tiny hands gripping your finger, sweet glances between siblings, giggles mid-spin — I’ll capture it all.
